FAQ'S
Four Options
You can order (and mount or frame!) your image using our own designer right here.
- For Prints & Mounted Prints: Select "Print Only" to get a paper only print, an aluminum mounted print, or an acrylic face mounted print.
- For Canvas Prints: Select "Stretched Canvas Print" which is a ready to hang canvas print with NO frame.
- For a Framed Canvas or Mounted Print: Select "Framed Print without Mat & Glazing". This option allows you to add a Float Frame or a Classic Frame on a canvas print or a mounted print! (Glazing is another word for glass, and these frames don't have or need glass)
- For a Framed Paper Print: Select "Framed Print with Mat & Glazing" which allows you to customize a frame around your print with ease.
Ready-to-hang Mounted Giclée Prints
Ready-to-hang Mounted Giclée Prints for artwork, photos, and more. A modern alternative to traditional framing, designed to showcase your images with clarity and style.
Your Mounted Print always begins as aphotograde archival print on EPSON Gloss or Metallic Gloss paper. Other providers will print directly to the material, which loses depth and colour saturation, andthat is why we always use a paper print. Our standard paper is gloss, while metallic gloss gives your image a pearlescent quality that catches and moves with the light.
Once you've chosen your paper, you can mount it on one of several substrates:1.Aluminum Dibond- This lightweight yet rigid material has a thin, minimalist edge of black and silver. The surface of your print is protected with our sand-textured laminate product which offers UV protection and makes your print matte. The gloss finish is completely hidden by the matte which stops reflection from the print.
2.Facemounted Acrylic Glass- Kingston Frameworks was a pioneer in the development of Acrylic Facemounted Prints more than a decade ago. Today, we have refined our proprietary techniques to create consistent, top quality and dust-free acrylic facemounts. Each print is first mounted directly to a sheet of 6mm acrylic glass that intensifies colour and vividness in your image. It is then backed with 6mm black sintra, although this can be customized. We also offer facemounting to Optium Museum Acrylic - which is anti-glare, scratch and static free, and UV protective. You will LOVE the stunning quality of an Acrylic Facemounted Print.
3.Plaquemount- the classic and affordable way to mount a print on an MDF wooden panel. You can customize the edges of your plaquemount by picking any colour to have custom painted along the edge of your piece.
4.Foam Products- We can mount to high-density foamcore, or to rigid gator foam (special order only)
What Is Giclée?
What Is Giclée?
Giclée is a French word that means "saturated" - and our giclée prints are saturated with archival-grade ink. Today, Giclée Archival Prints are the gold standard for artists, photographers and collectors. Archival Prints when handled properly can last over 150 years. The impressive range of colours make stunning reproductions, photographic prints, and digital media creations.

Custom Frames, Built to Last
Custom Frames, Built to Last
Your Handmade Frame isn't like an
off-the-rack frame. Every frame is handcrafted using both modern and
traditional techniques, the highest-quality finishes, and hand-selected lengths
of wood or milled aluminum. Today, custom framing is largely misunderstood, and
we hope to change that. The quality of craftsmanship that goes into every frame
rival that of a tailor-made suit or designer dress, but unlike most services
today it is created to last many lifetimes when done properly - and that is
exactly what we set out to do every day at Frameworks Canada.
